Why behaviour vets and GPs refer to Pet Professor

Why behaviour vets and GPs refer to Pet Professor.

Where most trainers focus on obedience, we focus on behaviour: the full clinical picture your patient presents, in the environment that's actually driving it.

Every referral is handled personally by Marianne (Cert IV Companion Animal Services). No junior handlers. No handover to a second trainer mid-program. One clinician, one pathway, start to finish.

All interventions follow the LIFE framework: Least Inhibitive, Functionally Effective (Fernandez & Martin, 2023; Goldiamond; Layng). LIFE is the modern successor to LIMA: every plan preserves the patient's degrees of freedom while targeting the actual behavioural function, not just suppressing the symptom. Positive reinforcement only. No aversive methods, no punishment-based tools, no dominance theory, so pharmacological support and behaviour modification pull in the same direction, not against each other.

We assess in the client's home where the behaviour actually happens, coordinate directly with you on cases needing anxiolytic or pain-trial support, and send written reports at every milestone, so you stay informed without chasing updates.

Client outcomes

Complex cases. Measurable change.

A selection of clients who came to us with fear aggression, reactivity, and anxiety presentations, several on direct vet or vet-behaviourist referral.

Fear · Vet-referred

Referred by Milo's vet behaviourist.

"Milo was terrified of his own shadow. After seeing how Marianne helped Milo soothe his fears and control his behaviour, I heard of her dog adventures."

, Joanna & Milo & Charlie
Fear aggression · Reactivity

Fear aggression, dog-directed reactivity.

"My dog had fear aggression and was very reactive towards other dogs. Through the training, my dog has shown so much improvement. I now have the tools to prevent reactive behaviour and understand the individual needs of my dog."

, Monique & Arna
Reactivity · Rescue dog

"People keep telling me I've got a different dog."

"Our weekly sessions have helped him build up so much confidence that he can now socialise with other small to medium dogs. He couldn't walk past one without lunging before. His recall is also improving so much that we can go off lead in big spaces like parks and beaches."

, Rebecca & Mr T
